Wedge, You're Gonna Fall Off

Whenever Shasta says to Wedge, "Wedge, you're gonna fall off", he tilts his head to the side and she thinks it's hilarious. She says it to him over and over and he really does tilt his head every time. It's something that we all get a kick out of!

Hendricks Family Sledding Party

Where evidently, no sleds are present! The girls had a blast. Shasta was a little more reserved and took some warming up. But Shelby had no fear. She even went down by herself before Shasta was willing to be so brave. Unfortunately, Shasta didn't have any snow clothes so she got pretty wet and had to keep going inside to change. But she still had tons of fun. Their smiles say it all.

Reverent Girls

The girls taught the lesson for Family Night. Shasta told stories using the Gospel Art Book and Shelby "read" the scriptures. She's obviously super into it. She must be reading a good one! Then I snapped pictures of them being examples for the bed time prayer. It's been a battle to get Shasta to close her eyes during any prayer. Well when Shelby did it I praised her and took her picture. Shasta couldn't let Shelby show her up so she did it too. And now she doesn't it fairly regularly. She still has her moments, but she's made huge progress!

Best Friends Playing House

These girls don't always get along, but when they do it's super cute! Shasta was pretending to be Shelby's mom and Shelby was the baby. Shelby was swaddled in a blanket and Shasta was feeding her a play bottle when I found them. And Shasta LOVED that Shelby went along with her game!

Resolutions

I've decided for my blog this year I'm going to try something a little bit different. Blogging has always been more about the stories for me and less about the pictures. I've treated my blog like a journal and while I LOVE the posts once they're done, completing them has always been a challenge that leaves me feeling stressed and unable to keep up. While I'm sure I will still have posts here and there that are long winded and more detailed than they need to be, this year I want to really focus on the little moments. Those moments that make me laugh, make me love being a wife and mom, make me happy and sad, make me thankful. All the moments that make my life complete, those are the things that will tell our family story this year. Let's see how well I do!
