Shelby's 9 Months

Shelby had her 9 month appointment a little early this month. Our insurance was changing at the beginning of the year so we asked if we could come before the end of the year. But we were in Arizona for the last week of December so we ended up going for her checkup the day before Christmas Eve. Her stats aren't exactly accurate for being 9 months because they were two weeks early, but close enough! And since there aren't any shots for the 9 month appointment it wasn't a big deal to go early.

By the time Shelby turned 9 months:

  • 14lbs 4oz (2nd percentile)
  • 25 inches tall
  • Started saying "dada"
  • Close to sitting up, but not quite there
  • Went to Arizona
  • Grammy taught her how to clap her hands when you say "yaaaay"
  • Celebrated Christmas
  • Got bronchiolitis most likely caused from RSV. Had to take an antibiotic and do breathing treatments.
  • Grew two teeth on bottom and one tooth on top. The top tooth wasn't one right in front it was the next one over.
  • She's been an amazing teether. I didn't even know she was getting teeth. Just one day they were there.
  • Started taking baths with Shasta. Up to this point I would bathe them separately because we don't have a baby bath and Shelby wasn't sitting up (not that she is now) so the bath couldn't be very full. It was really hard because as soon as Shelby was done bathing I would get her dressed and hurry and bathe Shasta. Then I would nurse Shelby while sitting on the toilet lid so that Shasta could play in the tub for a little bit. It was a pain, but when it's just me at night to get the girls bathed and in bed, I didn't know how else to make it work. Finally bathing them together has made our evening routine SO much easier! And I couldn't bathe them in the morning because I have school and by the time I get home it's time for Shelby to take a nap or for them to have lunch. It's been quite the dilemma, but we survived!
  • Started clapping her hands
  • Started clicking her tongue
  • Started laughing out more where we can hear her rather than holding it back
  • Loves watching Wedge and laughs at him when he does tricks
  • Can push herself into a sitting position from laying on her tummy
  • Goes to bed at 7:30pm and wakes up around 7:30am
  • Went to her first Aggie basketball game
Show me the true blooded Aggie from Utah who doesn't love the spot *clap clap*
Where the sage brush GROWS!

Cute hair!
Learned she could get Wedge to pay attention to her if she shares her snacks
This picture and the next one are my favorite! I love that look!
Seriously, look at that face!
She loves her dad. She doesn't really play favorites between mom and dad.
Shasta loves tickling her.
And giving her kisses!
