We did far less exciting things in the month of January than the month of December so by way of pictures, we're surely lacking.
By the time she turned 10 months:
- Started sitting up
- Can move around all over a room without actually crawling. She pushes backwards with her feet while laying on her back and scoots around.
- Smacks her lips while I'm getting ready to nurse her as if she's waiting in eager anitcipation.
- Cries for me as soon as I walk in the door from school and she hears my voice or sees me.
- Started "singing" along with me during her bed time song of I Am A Child of God. She doesn't do it every night, but sometimes.
- Started sleeping in her crib for a short time. She's been in the pack n play in the guest room this whole time because I didn't know how to get both girls to bed at the same time by myself. I finally took the plunge after they shared a room at my parents house while we were there for Christmas. I still put them to bed at different times, we just started doing Shasta's routine in the family room instead of her bedroom. It lasted about two weeks before I decided it was too hard. Shasta would play with Shelby during nap time and neither one of them would go to sleep. I felt like at night they made each other be heavier sleepers because they wouldn't wake up if the other cried, but every night one of them would get up and apparently they have "mom's in the room" senses because as soon as I would tuck the crying child back in and say good night the other would start crying. It was too frustrating and we needed to get into a better routine and get fully over the awful colds everyone got so all sleep habits would be back to normal. We'll try again eventually!
